What is the weather like in Cologne today, July 14, 2025? After a sunny weekend, unsettled weather conditions have spread across Germany. According to information from Non-stop news Thunderstorms, heavy rain and stormy gusts are approaching, especially in southwest Germany. Temperatures can reach up to 29 degrees, which creates a humid climate with the high humidity. An umbrella is therefore more than recommended!
The German Weather Service (DWD) has already issued weather warnings this morning that point out the great danger. Stronger thunderstorms are expected, particularly in the southern half, while only isolated thunderstorms will pass over us in the northeast. The thunderstorm cell over Muggensturm, which struck around 12 p.m., is bringing heavy rain and wind. The forecast also holds out the prospect of a change in the weather: cooler air masses from the Atlantic may come into play from Tuesday, reports Weatherhazards.de.
Thunderstorms and risk of severe weather
What exactly is happening today? The thunderstorms are spreading across Germany from the southwest, specifically from the region around France and Switzerland. From midday onwards, more frequent and sometimes strong thunderstorms are expected, which will locally bring between 15 and 25 liters of rain per square meter.
