Florin Ketterer remains: Ravensburg's ice hockey hero in the new season!
Things are really getting down to business in Ravensburg! The Ravensburg Towerstars have decided to start the new season of the German Ice Hockey League 2 with an experienced defense. A central piece of the puzzle in this project remains Florin Ketterer, who has been signed for the coming season and is thus starting his fifth season in Ravensburg. The 32-year-old, a true defensive anchor, is happy to continue being on the ice for his team.
With Ketterer, the Towerstars have a player on board who not only blocked 155 opposing shots in the current season - which is the best value in the DEL2 - but also brings enormous potential and experience to defense. In his 242 games for the Towerstars so far, he scored nine goals and collected a total of 141 scorer points in 496 DEL2 games, as icehockeypage.net reports.
The defense is there
Together with Ketterer, Simon Sezemsky (32 years old), Julian Eichinger (34) and Denis Pfaffengut (27) form a powerful defense. Together, these four players bring an impressive overall package of over 2000 competitive games in the DEL2, which is a real advantage for every team. Sezemsky also has 17 international matches and 313 DEL games under his belt. Young defenders such as Philipp Mass and Lukas Jung, who are 24 and 20 years old, will bring a breath of fresh air to the team.
With these personnel decisions, the Towerstars show that they want to set the course for a successful season. Coach Bo Subr and sporting director Marius Riedel are looking for another foreign striker to fill the last contingent position. At the same time, they were able to extend contracts with players Alex-Olivier Voyer, Erik Karlsson and Robbie Czarnik, all of whom make a significant contribution to the team's success. Departures like Mathew Santos and Adam Payerl, both to the Krefeld Pinguinen, make room for fresh talent and new strategies.
A home in Ravensburg
Ketterer has developed a particularly close bond with Ravensburg. After the birth of his daughter, the defender feels at home here and wants to continue the success of the last four years, both athletically and emotionally. This is also highlighted by Marius Riedel, who emphasizes the importance of the player for the team: “Florin is an important part of our team, whose experience should not be underestimated anyway.”
The coming year promises to be exciting - the Ravensburg Towerstars are ready to take on the challenges of the season with their solid defense and fresh talent. We can't wait to see how everything develops and whether the Towerstars can play at the top of the DEL 2 again. In any case, we wish Florin Ketterer and his team a successful start!
