Rhein-Neckar district starts climate fit project: companies save costs!

In the Rhine-Neckar region, the focus is on sustainable measures as the “Klimafit BW” project is picking up speed again. How Metropolitan Journal reported, the kick-off event will take place on November 18, 2025 in the district office. District Administrator Stefan Dallinger invites all interested companies and organizations that are interested in more sustainable business.

There are still remaining places available for participation in the funding project. Up to eleven companies from the Rhein-Neckar district can apply to take part in this initiative of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment. This program aims to create a comprehensive greenhouse gas balance for the participating companies and to develop concrete measures to reduce emissions, energy consumption and operating costs.

The funding program in detail

That of Baden-Württemberg The KLIMAfit program launched is aimed at companies of all sizes and industries as well as other organizations. It offers a structured introduction to climate protection. The participants work together on their projects in groups of five to twelve companies and are supported by an experienced project manager and consultants.

Over a period of around nine to twelve months, the project includes several workshops and individual on-site consultations. The aim is to create a well-founded climate balance and define sustainable climate goals. This commitment is rewarded with an official award as a “KLIMAfit company”, which is not only beneficial for your own image, but can also provide advantages in terms of financing.

Achievements and goals

Last year, nine companies successfully took part in the program and developed a total of 93 individual measures to reduce emissions. According to current forecasts, these actions will lead to a reduction of over 1,644 tons of CO2e in the coming years. An outstanding opportunity not only to save costs, but also to actively contribute to environmental and climate protection.
