Early bird catches the trade fair: Clean and safe to the Südwest Messe!

The Südwest Messe in Villingen-Schwenningen has established itself as an annual highlight and attracts numerous visitors with its colorful range of offerings. Today, June 18th, 2025, preparations are already in full swing as the trade fair opens its doors at 4:30 a.m. Around 500 exhibitors present their products from the areas of energy-efficient construction, health, culinary and household in 17 halls and on a spacious open-air area. The event not only offers shopping opportunities, but also numerous suggestions for everyday life and leisure, which makes it the undisputed highlight of the year for many people, reports Black Forest messenger.

But what happens behind the scenes to ensure this runs smoothly? The cleaning team of the Ahad cleaning company, led by Serafettin and Muhammet Ali Yerlikaya, starts early in the morning with the maintenance of the sanitary rooms, toilets and the outdoor area and ensures that everything is ready for the guests. From 5:00 a.m., the Remondis garbage collector and the sweeper also take care of the cleanliness, while the cleaning team is on duty continuously from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Organization and security

The security company SWAT under the direction of Manuel Hertlein is responsible for the security and organization of the trade fair. His many years of experience – 21 years in the industry, 17 of them for the trade fair – are paying off. With a team that has grown from four to 160 employees, parking space occupancy is coordinated efficiently thanks to live monitored systems. Visitors will be directed to free parking spaces by security guards to avoid traffic jams.

A week before the trade fair, basic cleaning is planned, especially in order to be able to prepare the stands and rooms. There are not only 60 garbage containers, 75 benches and 60 ash stands available on the exhibition grounds, but also 50 plants create an inviting atmosphere. Before the big event, practical details also have to be taken into account: a total of 19 kilometers of cables and 2 kilometers of water hoses will be laid, while 3.5 kilometers of walls and 2,500 square meters of aisle runners will be erected.

The importance of early planning and organization is often underestimated.
