Gold rush for Alena Weinmann: double victory at German championships!

What a fantastic weekend for the summer biathletes from Germany! Alena Weinmann from SC Gosheim impressively demonstrated her strength at the German Summer Biathlon Championships in St. Andreasberg. She returned triumphant with two gold medals and one silver medal. On the first day of competition, the women's relay competition was a highlight: As the final runner in a Württemberg selection relay, she brought her team from fifth place to second place and thus secured the silver medal. As schwaebische.de reports, the entire championship was a true spectacle at the biathlon facility on Sonnenberg, which captivated athletes over three days.

On the second day of competition, Weinmann dominated the junior mass start and took first place with a time of 29.40 minutes. She hit 17 of 20 targets and left Lina Niebling from SV Rengersfeld two minutes behind. “It was exciting and challenging,” explained Weinmann after her victory. The last day of the competition held another individual title for the Gosheimer: In the three-kilometer sprint, Weinmann took the winner's podium with a faultless prone shooting and only one mistake in the standing shooting. Her final time of 15.58 minutes gave her a 1.21 minute lead over second-placed Regine Tempelfeld from SV Laubach.

Successful team achievements

Weinmann's success is all the more impressive when you consider the bumpy preparation of her club colleague Dominik Hermle. He only started running training again at the end of May and struggled with illness in the week before the championship. Nevertheless, he delivered a strong performance in the men's relay and secured the bronze medal with his teammates.

But it wasn't just in St. Andreasberg that the athletes from the region shone. On Saturday, before the German Championships, the Württemberg State Championships in Target Sprint took place. Here the athletes from DAV Ulm were able to secure three titles. Anni Gotterbarm (youth female), Madlen Guggenmos (women 1) and Marian Lentz (men 1) celebrated their successes. Alena Weinmann and Lukas Adam were also successful in the mixed relay competition, winning first place. The team spirit was clearly noticeable and contributed to the athletes' complete success. According to dav-ulm.de, coach Stefan was also happy about the successful competition, who supported his team during the event.

The “Summer Biathlon meets Winter Biathlon” event, which took place on Sunday, promoted sporting exchange between athletes of different age groups and disciplines. In the women's race, Madlen Guggenmos secured victory, while Alena Weinmann once again showed a strong performance and took second place. The exciting competitions increase the anticipation for upcoming events and championships, where the aim is always to deliver good performances and compete.
