New hope for Tuttlingen's travel: Linda Dursun opens a travel agency!

A breath of fresh air is blowing through the travel agency “Honberg Reisen” in Tuttlingen, which was opened on November 15th by the committed Linda Dursun. Her office, directly opposite the newly opened “Yoake” in the Drei-Kronen-Hof, is deliberately kept simple - a minimalist desk, a few chairs and no unnecessary furniture set the mood for a clear, focused approach the first time you enter. Dursun, who successfully completed her training as a tourism clerk in Rielasingen-Worblingen, has realized a long-cherished dream with her own business.

“I wanted to work in the travel sector again,” says Dursun, who worked in a car dealership during the corona pandemic. After the birth of her daughter and with a bit of determination, she took the step into becoming self-employed. The travel agency, which escaped a long period of vacancy, was previously owned by her father-in-law, who was no longer able to continue running it. Dursun accepts the challenge of running a family business with open arms and receives a lot of support from her family, especially when it comes to child care.

Travel interests and trends

Current travel trends show that Germans have a clear desire for vacation trips after the pandemic. Despite all the adversities, tourism remains one of the most important needs - after food, vacation trips come in second place. Destinations such as Dubai, Turkey and Italy are particularly popular - the latter continue to enjoy great popularity as classics, adds Dursun.

Dursun currently relies on modern booking processes and can be reached via various channels: email, telephone, WhatsApp or Zoom ensure easy contact. She also plans to add inspirational travel catalogs to her offering to offer her customers a wide range of options.

Opportunities through digitalization

Digitalization is also showing its face in tourism. Dursun is aware of this and therefore has a clear plan to combine their offerings digitally and with a personal approach. Loud Statista More than 50 percent of Germans use online booking portals for their travel bookings, which means for Dursun that she has to lead her travel agency smoothly into the future online and offline. With over 40 licenses from various travel providers, it has a good foundation to incorporate digital trends into its way of working and improve its customers' stay through digital advice and booking.

At a time when COVID-19 has greatly impacted the travel industry, demand for travel remains high. Even though prices in the airline industry increased by 52.6% in the first half of 2023 compared to 2021, and package holidays became on average 10.2% more expensive, people are investing in their relaxation and experiences. Again German Travel Association reports, there is a clear trend towards longer-term bookings and a return to international travel.

So if you're planning your summer vacation, you should book in good time to benefit from bargains and advantages - a recommendation that Dursun gives. Your travel agency is open to anyone wishing to travel on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Linda Dursun shows that with a good hand, traveling is far from going out of fashion.
