Hiking fun in the Lechtal: summit climb to the Anhalter Hut!
On August 24, 2025, a group of 11 people who enjoyed hiking set off to the Anhalter Hut in the picturesque Lechtal under the guidance of Bernd Rudischhauser. Despite a weather forecast that was classified as semi-optimal, the hiking group did not let their spirits be spoiled and there were no cancellations. The starting point was in Bschlabs and the climb to the hut took around three hours.
The Anhalter Hut itself, which belongs to the Upper Neckar section of the German Alpine Club, was extensively renovated between 2019 and 2021. The hut staff had already made important preparations on the day of arrival, so that the hikers were welcomed with a cup of coffee and a delicious piece of apple strudel immediately after their arrival. The energy-sustainable orientation of the hut was impressive: it generates its electricity via a photovoltaic system and stores the surplus in a battery system. During times when there is little sun, a combined heat and power plant is used that runs on vegetable oil. The sewage system and water treatment are also state of the art, the water source is above the hut.
Hike to the summit
After the cozy get-together, the hikers continued: the summit of the Tschachaun, which at 2334 meters is the local mountain of the Anhalter Hütte, was on the agenda. The subsequent ascent was led by Martin Arnold, an expert from the Upper Neckar section. A moderately difficult mountain hike took the group via the Anhalter Hut up to the summit of Tschachaun. A look at the tour description, supported by information from Höhenrausch, shows that the approach from the Brenntersbach to the Brennhüttental is a bit rough due to earlier mudflows. But the effort is worth it - the view from the top is simply magnificent and offers a long break.
For the return, the descent was planned through the Faselfeilental, where some streams had to be crossed. Despite the challenge, all participants returned to the valley in a positive mood.
Further experiences in the Lechtal
The next day the tour led to the Namlosen Wetterspitze, which at 2553 meters represents an even greater challenge. The hikers set out on the trail in gray but dry weather and could look forward to a relaxing rest on the summit before heading back via the Putzenjoch and Ortkopf to Bschlabs. Last but not least, the trip ended in the renovated shared rooms of the hut with a convivial evening of card games, which brought all participants together and strengthened the sense of community.
For all those who don't want to miss out on these wonderful hikes, an interactive GPX track is available, which you can easily download via the Bergtourentipp platform in order to experience the tour yourself. Elevation profiles and map views are also available here, which supports perfect planning of your own hike.
For nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts, the Anhalter Hütte is definitely worth it - with a clear commitment to sustainability and impressive mountain landscapes. And so the Anhalter Hütte remains another jewel in the Lechtal Alps that is appreciated by hiking enthusiasts.
