VfE Ulm/Neu-Ulm delivered real fireworks in yesterday's Bayernliga duel against EC Pfaffenhofen. With an impressive 8-1 win on opposing ice, the Ulm ice hockey players showed that they are currently in top form. After just 90 seconds, Jakub Bernad scored the early lead and thus laid the foundation for success. Just three minutes later he increased the lead to 2-0. This dominance continued as the game progressed.

In the second third, team captain Bohumil Slavicek came into play, scoring two goals and putting the opponents under heavy pressure. Pfaffenhofen's Jan Tlacil was able to reduce the score to 1:4 shortly before the end of the second period, but the Ulm attack was unimpressed.

An impressive final spurt

In the final third the Devils really turned up the heat again. Within a very short time, Dominik Synek and Philipp Wirz ensured that the score rose to 6:1. The Pfaffenhofen team had to change their goalkeeper, but even the new keeper couldn't stop the Ulm team's increasing goal threat. Jakub Bernad set another highlight with his third goal in the 50th minute and two assists before Martin Podesva made the final score 8-1.

After the game, coach Michael Bielefeld was extremely satisfied with the concentrated style of play and the implementation of the tactical plan. “We implemented the instructions well and put pressure on the opposing defense right from the start,” said Bielefeld. His protégés have impressively proven that they can currently play at the top of the Bayernliga.
