FCA fans donate a record amount: 53,588 euros for social projects!

A real success for the FCA fans! In the current 2024/25 season, FC Augsburg supporters were able to collect an impressive 53,588 euros for charitable purposes as part of their cup deposit donations. This considerable sum was collected in 17 Bundesliga home games, one cup game and at the 2024 family day, as reported by fcaugsburg.de. With this campaign, the FCA is once again showing its commitment to social projects in the region.

The cup deposit, which amounts to 2 euros for every cold drink in the stadium, was not only donated by the fans, but also used creatively. 30,734 euros went to various initiatives and organizations, including the Football4WASH project in Mpumalanga and the Augsburg City Youth Association for the Zirbelnuss educational arena. These projects have a significant impact on the social fabric in Augsburg and the surrounding area.

A look at the recipients

The distribution of donations shows how diverse the support is. In addition to the FCA Forest and the KJF Social Offers Allgäu, part of the money also benefited the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial and the WWK Children's Foundation. Another focus was on the Ulrich Biesinger grandstand, which received 24,346 euros. The Ulrich-Biesinger-Tribüne e.V. is also responsible for deciding how to use the funds.

For the coming 2025/26 season it is clear that the cup deposit donations will again go to UBT e.V. In addition, three organizations each benefit from a third of the donations collected: Viva con Agua South Africa for the Football4WASH project, the Stadtjugendring Augsburg for educational work and the Einsmehr - Down Syndrome Augsburg and surrounding area initiative for an inclusive football offering. This shows how important it is to work together in a community and support each other.

Local commitment

The initiative shows that the FCA not only controls sporting fortunes on the pitch, but also acts as a bridge builder between people. Club life also includes a strong social component, which is continually strengthened through such projects. In addition, the annual general meeting of FC Augsburg e. V. on October 15, 2025, at which the entire Supervisory Board will be elected. Markus Widmann, the 56-year-old and long-time FCA fan, has proposed himself as a candidate to represent the various interests of the members. He is a founding member of the Ulrich-Biesinger-Tribüne e.V. and emphasizes the importance of transparency and exchange within the FCA family, as does ubt-augsburg.de underlines.

At a time when community and social responsibility are more in focus than ever, FC Augsburg is sending a strong signal with its initiatives. It remains exciting to see how these projects will be further developed and what positive effects they will have on the region.
