Kuschmanns celebrate 70 years of love: A celebrating couple from Strullendorf!
A very special marriage anniversary was celebrated in Strullendorf. Gisela and Werner Kuschmann celebrated their wedding of grace - a proud 70 years of marriage. On August 14, 2025, family, friends, neighbors and many club representatives gathered to wish the two of them best wishes for their long journey together. In Franconia reports that the celebration day was peppered with warm congratulations from Prime Minister Markus Söder, Bamberg's deputy district administrator Bruno Kellner and Strullendorf's second mayor Stefan Zahner.
The jubilee Gisela Kuschmann, a real Strullendorfer and born Weith, looks back on her life full of memories. Werner Kuschmann, born in Altstadt (Namslau district) in Silesia, came to Strullendorf in 1946 to look for his family. Their first meeting took place at the tender age of 14, and the civil wedding in the Laurentius Church in 1955 and the birth of their daughter in 1958 soon followed.
Active lifestyle
Even in their old age, the two of them remain remarkably fit and entertain their family with stories from times gone by. They fondly remember the 750th anniversary of Strullendorf and the many experiences they were able to share there. Werner worked in tool making at the Lindner company for over 20 years and, outside of his professional life, was actively involved in the hiking department at Concordia Strullendorf and in various fishing clubs. Gisela, on the other hand, began her career at the Wohlleben laundry in Bamberg before dedicating herself fully to her family and practicing her green thumb in the garden.
The couple now has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who enrich their retirement. At their wedding ceremony they were showered with bouquets of flowers and good wishes. It's easy to see that the community in Strullendorf stands firmly together and views the Kuschmanns in a particularly warm light. Their grandchildren and great-grandchildren beam with pride at what their grandparents have achieved.
satisfaction in old age
Today is not only about anniversaries, but also about gratitude. Gisela and Werner are happy and are trying to deal with the challenges of old age. Gisela has a charming eye for her partner's peculiarities and humorously points out his "Silesian snark" when he says too much. Their greatest wish is to stay healthy and enjoy the days together, which the two of them master with flying colors.
The Kuschmanns' example not only represents a long marriage, but also a lively and active participation in life. There were similar ceremonies recently in Oggau, where numerous marriage anniversaries were celebrated. BVZ reported on seven couples who celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and five couples who celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary. It turns out that marriage and its similarities are highly valued in both regions.
