Eberner Schütze wins vice crown at the Oktoberfest state shooting!

The Oktoberfest in Munich not only offers Oktoberfest beer and gingerbread hearts, but also exciting shooting competitions. This year, Helmut Stubenrauch from the Schützengesellschaft Ebern 1430 e.V. impressively turned up the heat at the Oktoberfest state shooting competition and secured the title of Vice State Shooter King for the air pistol. With a fantastic result of 73.7 points, he was behind the winner Werner Oblinger from SV Eichenlaub Stammham, who took first place with a 38.9 points. A total of 1,261 participants took part and Stubenrauch left a large number of 1,259 competitors behind, as the NP Coburg reports.

When shooting, Stubenrauch was in top form and achieved almost the perfect shot, which landed almost exactly in the middle of the target. This outstanding performance was no coincidence, as he had previously taken part in the German championship with the small-lever rifle in Hanover. The sport and the competition have a long tradition and daughters and sons of the air saw themselves united not least in the context of the happy shooting society.

Tradition meets modernity

As part of the 75th anniversary of the Bavarian Sports Shooting Association (BSSB), the Oktoberfest state shooting took place, which has been an integral part of the Oktoberfest culture since 1810. Bavaria's first state shooting champion Christian Kühn underlined the importance of shooting sports and the sociability among the shooters at the opening ceremony. Prominent patrons such as Duke Franz of Bavaria and State Minister Joachim Herrmann supported the event and at the same time promoted Munich's Olympic bid, as bssb.de reports.

This year too, almost 4,300 shooters, including many young talents and experienced seniors, took part in the competitions. The event is not only considered a shooting competition, but also promotes togetherness in the shooting community. There was particular joy about the strong participation of over 900 young shooters who keep the shooting tradition alive.

A celebration for everyone

The Oktoberfest state shooting attracts tens of thousands of spectators every year, and the atmosphere at the event is characterized by a colorful mix of sport, tradition and social gatherings. Over 450 seniors and almost 9,000 guest shooters from all over the world took part this year. Representing the youth, Dalia Reiser from “Vivat” Schwabhausen e.V. won the title of state youth shooting queen with a score of 14.3. Her colleagues Helana Mauer and Thomas Radinger also contributed to the shooting story.

The coronation of the new state shooting kings took place in front of the impressive Bavaria backdrop and was the ceremonial climax of the competition. The Oktoberfest 2025 ended with a traditional “Wiesn bombardment” and left lasting memories characterized by Bavarian tradition and modern sporting spirit. The event combines the sport's past and exciting challenges - good business for everyone involved.
