A festival full of joy: children immerse themselves in the folk festival magic!
On Monday, Simbach experienced an exciting children's afternoon at the annual folk festival. The festive atmosphere attracted many children and parents to the festival grounds, where numerous activities awaited them. Mayor Herbert Sporrer and Second Mayor Petra Schulte welcomed the young visitors to the Gasthaus Wiese with balloons and travel chips. PNP reported that the children were excitedly looking forward to one of the highlights of the afternoon: the long-distance flight competition. Unfortunately, there were technical problems with the gas, so not all wishes could actually get into the air. But Mayor Sporrer didn't give up and quickly compensated the little disappointments with delicious chocolate bars.
Georg Erhardsberger, Severin Sporrer and Martin Schultz skilfully provided the musical accompaniment, so that a happy atmosphere accompanied the festival. At the official opening of the children's afternoon, the balloons with the children's wishes rose into the blue sky and created a particularly emotional moment.
Diverse games and rewards
Once in the festival tent, the children were able to take part in various games, such as stilt walking and Kastl hopping. There were no points for each game played, but there were stamps as a reward. The children could later redeem these stamps for ride chips for rides such as bumper cars and carousels or even for vouchers for sweets. This incentive gave the little visitors additional motivation to take an active part.
The celebrations later moved to the outdoor area, where numerous activities and attractions continued to await the children. Petra Schulte had planned a lot in advance and was busy during the afternoon handing out vouchers to the children, who were eagerly competing for their rewards. Mercury highlights how folk festivals continue to be popular throughout Germany, with an annual number of visitors of around 148 million - a tradition that is also kept alive in Simbach.
This year the children's afternoon was once again a complete success. Together with the celebrations of the Dachau Folk Festival, which was particularly well attended recently, it shows that such folk festivals are not only an important part of culture, but also boost community spirit. Ewald Zechner, festival host at the Dachau Folk Festival, spoke of euphoria over the number of visitors and the positive interaction of weather, atmosphere and tent. Such events bring people together and provide unforgettable experiences for both children and adults. Folk festivals in numbers prove that such festivals are deeply rooted in German culture and have a long tradition that is kept alive in cities and communities.
