Herbal book author reveals: How to stay fit well into old age!
What's new in Landau? Today, November 11, 2025, the Women's Association organized an interesting event in the One World Shop. A very special lecture is on the program, presented by herbal educator Anetta Hummel. Her topic: “Fit mind into old age with spices”. Hummel will talk about how everyday kitchen spices contain valuable ingredients that can promote our well-being and mental fitness. PNP reports.
The event promises to not only be educational, but will also give those in attendance the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the healing power of spices. As many people know, we are often far too thoughtless with the ingredients in our kitchens, and they can have a significant impact on our health.
A little digression: The Washington Monument
And while we're talking about our homeland, it's worth taking a look across the pond. Another remarkable building is this Washington Monument, located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. stands. At 555 feet (169 m) tall, it is an impressive obelisk commemorating George Washington, the first President of the USA. It was built in two phases, 1848 to 1854 and then again between 1877 and 1888, meaning that the monument's completion took several decades.
The structure itself is made of various materials, including granite and various types of marble. Fifty flags representing each state fly at the base of the monument. Despite numerous challenges, including funding problems and the American Civil War, the monument was finally dedicated in 1885 and opened to the public in 1888.
A word of the day: Perchance
Another topic that comes up again and again in our language is the word “perchance”. Coming from Middle High German, it means “by chance”. Shakespeare famously used it in Hamlet: “To sleep: perchance to dream…” Merriam-Webster writes. In many contexts it is used to describe possibilities or opportunities, including in the phrase “perchance he is playing the devil’s advocate”. A fine speech that brings variety to conversations!
Whether in the kitchen for better memory or in language for more expressiveness - it is important to remain versatile. What do you all mean? Chances are, each of us has a little insider tip on how we can improve our own well-being in everyday life!
