Closures on A 95 and B 318: Traffic chaos in Bavaria is imminent!

From June 30, 2025, there will be significant restrictions on important traffic arteries in Bavaria. How Mercury reported, the federal highway 318 (B 318) and the highway 95 (A 95) in the direction of Garmisch-Partenkirchen are affected. The A 95 will be completely closed from the Murnau/Kochel junction to Eschenlohe; the closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday and end on Wednesday afternoon, i.e. July 2nd.

As part of the measures, traffic on the A 95 will be rerouted via the B 2. Speaking of the B 318: This is being renovated over a stretch of around 750 meters southwest of Warngau. Work on the B 318 will also begin on June 30th and will last until July 18th. They will be accompanied by a partial closure with traffic lights throughout the entire renovation period.

Full night closures

From Monday, July 7th to Friday, July 11th, the B 318 will be completely closed at night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. in order to be able to work in a coordinated manner. During these nightly closures, traffic will be rerouted via the local transport network. The entire renovation work is expected to be completed by July 18, although this depends heavily on weather conditions.

But work isn't just happening on the highways. Construction work is also underway in Mitwitz and is scheduled to begin in March 2025. How NP Coburg informed, damaged water and sewer pipes will be replaced here. Those affected include Schlesierstrasse, Sudetenstrasse and Pinsenhofstrasse. The total costs of this construction project amount to 2.635 million euros.

The planning for these new measures was completed by the engineering firm SRP, and the work will be awarded in November 2024. Market town councilor Martin Heidenbluth has suggested asking the homeowners about replacing their connections. Mayor Oliver Plewa also announced a citizens' meeting that will take place after the work has been awarded.
