Oasis conquers the charts: comeback delights the fans!
After a lot of back and forth, the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, have finally gotten back together! Oasis, the band that shaped Britpop in the 90s, made their comeback last year and is now making a splash in the British album charts. Loud Mainpost After their comeback, they brought three albums into the top ten. Particularly noteworthy is the single compilation “Time Flies… 1994–2009”, which reached the top of the charts for the first time in around 15 years. The legendary album “(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?” takes second place, while her debut “Definitely Maybe” comes in fourth.
The band fell out and broke up around 16 years ago after Noel announced that working with Liam was no longer possible. The brothers announced their comeback in August 2024. The first concert then took place in Cardiff and was extremely well received by the fans. Oasis is currently touring Manchester and has further concerts planned in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia and Argentina. A concert film is also in the pipeline.
The Reunion: A comeback with tradition
The reunion of the Gallagher brothers was not only a major event for the music world, but is also seen as an important economic factor. Loud South German newspaper Spending on entertainment in the UK rose 14.4 percent in September - the biggest increase since July 2023. The reason? Of course the upcoming Oasis concerts! The band are planning no fewer than 15 shows in the UK and Ireland and will later also perform in cities such as Mexico, Seoul, Tokyo and Buenos Aires.
According to Daily Mail The tour will feature 14 shows in total, including performances at major venues such as Wembley Stadium and Murrayfield. Interestingly, the band will not be making any appearances at the 2025 Glastonbury festival, but are planning to continue touring outside of Europe later this year. The band has scheduled ticket sales for August 31, 2025 - a real hype that led to the band's website crashing shortly after the announcement.
Fans with mixed feelings
The reaction from the fan base is divided: While some are extremely happy, others express concerns about ticket availability. Some voices even speak of a “ticket bloodbath”. The anticipation of the reunion is also supported by the Gallagher brothers' mother, Peggy Gallagher, who is happy about her sons' reunion. The band's former guitarist, Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, played a key role in getting the brothers to reconcile. Economists estimate the band's reunion could be worth over £50 million.
This is how Oasis' comeback continues to take shape. Fans can't wait to see their idols live again as the band rewrites music history. And who knows, maybe there will be even more to hear from the legendary Gallagher brothers after this tour!
