Jürgen Grams becomes the new deputy managing director of ZRF Ingolstadt!

Ingolstadt is looking at a change in the leadership of the special purpose association for emergency services and fire brigade alerting (ZRF). Jürgen Grams was elected by a majority as the new deputy managing director on September 1, 2025. The 52-year-old business economist from Sandersdorf brings with him a wide range of experience that he has gained in managerial positions in the automotive sector in his previous career. He will now support the business of managing director Günther Griesche and should contribute to the effective further development of the ZRF, as donaukurier.de reports.

Jürgen Grams is not only an experienced manager, but also a family man. With his in-depth training and knowledge in logistics, assembly and factory planning, he brings in critical skills. The ZRF describes the election of Grams as an important step in ensuring the region the best possible support in the rescue service and efficiently implementing the goals set.

The ZRF: An indispensable partner in the rescue service

The special purpose association for emergency services and fire brigade alerting in the Ingolstadt region was founded in 1976 and has since established itself as a mandatory special purpose association. His main task is to provide emergency services in the region. The districts of Eichstätt, Neuburg-Schrobenhausen, Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm and the independent city of Ingolstadt are the members of the association, which take care of the organization and implementation of emergency services. According to ils-ingolstadt.de, the association assembly is the highest body and consists of 19 representatives who are elected by the Radishratten and the Ingolstadt city council.

Another important goal of the ZRF is the establishment and operation of the integrated control center for the Ingolstadt region, which was put into operation on February 8, 2008. This is responsible for alerting the non-police emergency services and thus ensures quick and coordinated help in emergencies. With the decision in 2004 to carry out the alarms on its own, the ZRF took a big step towards optimizing the emergency services in the region.

Shortage of skilled workers in the emergency services

The shortage of skilled workers in the emergency services remains an explosive issue. According to current statistics, around 85,000 people were employed in this area in Germany in 2021. This number has increased by an impressive 71% over the last decade. Nevertheless, the rescue service is considered a shortage profession, which underlines the importance of well-trained specialists. [destatis.de](https://www.destatis.de/DE/Presse/Pressreleases/ Zahl-der-Woche/2023/PD23_06_p002.html) highlights that 66% of employees in the emergency services are male and the proportion of women has increased from 27% in 2011 to 34% in 2021. This shows that a positive change is slowly taking place here.

This makes the work of Jürgen Grams, who now plays a key role in the ZRF, all the more important. His goals will not only strengthen the association, but also help set the course for a more successful and efficient future in the emergency services. At a time when the need for skilled workers is high, especially in the healthcare sector, his expertise will certainly be of great value.
