The focus is on people and institutions that are actively committed to the preservation and research of the cultural heritage in the Württemberg Allgäu and Adelegg. “We would like to honor the work of Manfred Thierer,” said Mayor Hans-Jörg Henle, who emphasized the significant contribution of the local curator, journalist and art lover. Michael Waizenegger, the chairman of Heimatpflege Leutkirch e.V., also emphasizes Thierer's long-standing commitment.
Award ceremony and closing date
The prize is awarded every three years, with the deadline for applications being December 31, 2025. The prize is endowed with 2,000 euros and is aimed primarily at actors who can demonstrate a concrete work or a tangible act in the area of cultural and local heritage. A clear regional reference to the Allgäu or Adelegg is essential.

“We would like to encourage citizens to get involved,” explains Dr. Andreas Thierer, the volunteer's son, is happy about this award because he is preserving his father's legacy. In addition, the Leutkirch Community Foundation also supports the idea of the prize, while the Kreissparkasse Ravensburg Foundation offers financial support.
