Police strike hard: poser scene flees to Memmingen!

In the last few days, the poser scene in Ulm and Neu-Ulm has been in the headlines again because the police have taken intensive action against a planned meeting of tuning enthusiasts. The checks took place on all access roads in both cities, sometimes even with the use of a police helicopter. Due to the heavy police presence, many participants changed their meeting points to Memmingen and Altenstadt, where around 1,000 car posers carried out actions typical of the scene. The situation came to a head when the police had to intervene here with a large number, as the SWP reported.

The police broke up numerous gatherings and seized several vehicles. Various violations of traffic rules have been punished and those affected are now facing fines. The investigation into security disruptions that occurred during the night-time meeting in Altenstadt is also in full swing. On the way to one of the new meeting points, there were several rear-end collisions on the A7, in which three people were slightly injured. The operation lasted until the early hours of the morning.

Strong police presence

A look at the background shows that such meetings in the poser scene are sometimes also regulated by law. This year a lot of attention was paid to the poser scene, especially to the traditional meeting point on Good Friday, also known as “Car Friday”. Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) emphasizes that posing and illegal tuning not only endanger road traffic, but also influence the population's sense of security. This message is becoming increasingly clear the Bavarian police informed.

In recent years, police have carried out checks nationwide during Good Friday, and the results are alarming. Between 2022 and 2024 alone, over 360 police officers were deployed and more than 350 violations were identified. In 2024, extensive targeted inspections were carried out with the inspection of 15,000 vehicles, with almost 7,000 violations being prosecuted and over 1,200 vehicles being taken off the road. Such figures show the extent of the situation and the need for consistent action to avoid further security problems.

Keep an eye on the poser scene

The police remain active even outside of Good Friday and are continuously committed to the fight against illegal tuning and the so-called poser meetings. The focus is not only on monitoring, but also on educating and talking to the participants. It is important to analyze potential and improve the relationship between the police and car fans. The aim is to ensure that such scenes do not pose a danger to other road users in the future.

Overall, it shows that it is important to have a good hand when planning such meetings so that neither personalities in traffic nor safety on the streets are neglected. The police will continue to keep a close eye on the poser scene in the future to ensure safe traffic for everyone. We can only hope that passionate car fans will stick to the rules in the future and be able to pursue their enthusiasm for tuning without prejudice, without coming into conflict with the law again.
