The magic of the pre-Christmas season is in the air again and the Allgäu is preparing for its traditional Christmas markets. Some voices from online reviews are critical of the small size of the market compared to others, such as the market in Ulm with its 130 stalls. They criticize the high proportion of food stalls, which is 90 percent, as well as the lack of variety in terms of handicrafts and the contemplative atmosphere. Nevertheless, the general tenor is pleasantly positive, especially with regard to the food on offer and the beautiful surroundings.
