Full closure at the junction: construction work between Buchbach and Schwindegg!
There will be traffic disruptions in the Mühldorf a. district in the coming weeks. Inn on the program. As the Samerberger Nachrichten reports, the junction in the Schwindegger district of Spanbruck (St 2087/MÜ 22) will be completely closed from Thursday, August 21st, up to and including Saturday, August 30th. The reason for this is the final remaining work at the junction, which is necessary to optimize the base and surface layer and improve drainage.
The new walking and cycling path from Buchbach to Schwindegg, which opened at the end of April, has already been well received by residents. This approximately three kilometer long connection, which runs parallel to state highway 2087, was requested by the municipalities in order to increase safety for pedestrians and cyclists. The construction project is perceived as a benefit by citizens because it not only creates a secure connection between Buchbach and Schwindegg, but also promotes sustainable mobility in the region.
Detours and traffic routing
Drivers must expect disruptions during construction work. The diversions are planned in such a way that they lead both in a northerly direction from Wörth via MÜ 24, Angering, Hohending, MÜ 25 and St 2086 to Buchbach, and in a southerly direction from Kagen via St 2086 to Grüntegernbach and further on ED 25 to Schwindkirchen. The Rosenheim State Building Authority asks road users to understand the associated restrictions.
There was already a complete closure of state road 2087 from January 20th to February 7th, 2025 in order to create a safe walking and cycle path connection between the Buchbach district of Einsetting and Schwindegg. This work included, among other things, the Isen Bridge and the construction of an angle retaining wall, including the corresponding bridge railings. Here too, there were various diversion regulations in order to best take residents' and traffic concerns into account.
Promoting cycling infrastructure in Bavaria
The expansion of cycle paths is not only a local concern, but also a state concern. According to Bavaria's Transport Minister Kerstin Schreyer, the Free State of Bavaria will invest around 200 million euros in cycling infrastructure over the next five years. The aim is to build around 400 kilometers of new cycle paths along federal and state roads and thus make cycling in Bavaria even more attractive. The cycle path construction program 2020 to 2024 can be seen as a continuation of previous projects and aims to close gaps in the cycle path network so that 20% of all journeys in Bavaria are made by bicycle by 2025.
The developments surrounding the walking and cycling path from Buchbach to Schwindegg show that the region has a good knack for sustainable mobility. The entire community benefits from these investments, whether as cyclists, pedestrians or drivers. It remains to be hoped that the diversions will be implemented smoothly and the new measures will have the desired effect.
