A3 near Passau: closure from August 29th to 31st - this is how you get through!

In the beautiful region around Passau, important construction work on the A3 motorway is scheduled for the end of August. As the Augsburger Allgemeine reported, these measures are necessary to repair cracks and breakouts in the asphalt. Between Friday, August 29th, 1 p.m. and Sunday, August 31st, around 5 p.m., the Passau-Süd junction in the direction of Linz will be completely closed.

The work is important to ensure safety on the highway. Old asphalt layers are milled away and replaced with new surface and binding layers. This could be affected by short-term weather changes, so drivers should prepare for possible changes.

Diversions for road users

For everyone who wants to go to Passau-Süd, we recommend the tz, use the Passau-Mitte junction and follow the U95 detour if necessary. Drivers who want to get on the A3 from Passau-Süd towards Linz should use the U6 detour to Passau-Mitte. The state road 2618 (Passau-Süd) and the B12 (Passau-Mitte) remain accessible throughout, which could make some diversions a little easier.

The next restrictions will be announced in September, as the Passau-Mitte junction in the direction of Linz will also be closed from September 26th to 28th. This means things will continue to be exciting for drivers in the region.
