Future of Passau: City Council should become younger and more dynamic!

On December 23, 2025 it is time to take a look at the upcoming city council election in Passau. Preparations are in full swing and the first applicants have already been selected. Future Passau e.V. has presented its list for the March 2026 election, which now has the motto “Rejuvenate and Modernize”. The prospective city councilor is led by Jonas Ludwig Weidenthaler, who is proud of the unanimous nomination of his fellow campaigners. This shows the unity of the team and the clear objective of bringing young people into local politics.

With their average age, the list from Zukunft Passau relies on fresh faces! The club has proven itself to be objective and assertive in the past and would like to expand its parliamentary group strength in the coming election. The agenda already includes initiatives such as the construction of an artificial turf pitch in Haibach and the acquisition of the Peschlareal. If you look at the developments since the last local elections in 2020, it is clear: Passau has changed since then, with voter turnout at the time being 49.4%.
