Local talent Denny Vielwerth: Second best German in sport lumberjacking!

In the heart of the Rhön, sport lumberjacks can rejoice! Denny Vielwerth from Sondheim made a big impression at the Stihl Timbersports roof final in Wildhaus. With his sixth place, he is one of the best athletes in the country and is therefore the second best German participant behind Danny Martin. The final, in which 16 athletes from Germany, Austria and Switzerland fought for victory, was a real spectacle, and Vielwerth was one of the absolute favorites in this strong field of participants.
The main post reports on the exciting event in which Vielwerth was able to achieve his personal best in the first discipline, the underhand chop. Here he took second place behind Marcel Steinkämper, which impressively demonstrated his class.

But in the standing block chop and single buck disciplines, Vielwerth once again showed that he has a good knack for the challenges of sport lumberjack. He also made it to the final round with personal bests. Unfortunately, a cutting error in the Hot Saw discipline made life difficult for him; this led to disqualification and he received no points. Nevertheless, Vielwerth remains optimistic and emphasizes that the ax disciplines in particular suit him better.

Proud of the season

September 1st is not just a date for the sports lumberjack. Vielwerth can be proud of finishing the national season among the top six. His first appearance on the big stage was anything but disappointing. “I’m looking forward to the upcoming Team World Championships in Milan on October 24th,” said the athlete, who is already looking forward to the Italian metropolis with great expectations.

But there is exciting news from the world of sport woodcutting not only for the professionals, but also for everyone who is interested.
