Rosenheim Cops filming locations: Discover the local secrets!

Rosenheim is currently benefiting from a colorful cultural offering that puts the city and its surroundings in the best light. Particular attention is paid to the popular series “The Rosenheim Cops”, whose filming for the 25th season has been in full swing since the end of March 2025. The idyllic setting of Rosenheim and Chiemgau ensures a high recognition value, and many locals and tourists visit the locations in the series. A highlight: Rosenheim's town hall, often shown as the police headquarters, has become a popular photo motif.

In addition to the popular crime series, the “Rosenheim Theater Week” is also being prepared in Rosenheim, which will take place from June 29th to July 6th, 2025. The aim of this event is to present the diversity of the local theater scene, with contributions from seven Rosenheim theater clubs. The open-air stage on the Mount of Olives next to the Church of St. Nicholas will be the central event location. In case of bad weather, the performance moves to the theater hall of the Künstlerhof.

A look at the filming

“The Rosenheim Cops” is one of the most successful series on ZDF's early evening program and a real long-running hit in the region. In addition to the town hall, many scenes are filmed in the historic old town of Rosenheim, while interior filming takes place in the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich. For fans, Max-Josefs-Platz, a pedestrian zone since 1984, is a popular place to experience the atmosphere of the series. The “Times Square” Bistro also recently changed location and is now being staged in the Bavaria Film Studios. Other striking filming locations include the Hofer-Hof in Weyarn and the stud farm at Amerang Castle.

The Theater Week in Rosenheim promises an entertaining mix of classical plays, Bavarian comedies, contemporary author theater and performative formats.
