In the coming months, drivers can expect a number of construction sites and associated closures around Nuremberg. A particularly drastic project concerns the A9 motorway, a significant section of which will be closed until the end of November 2025. The closure, which affects the area between Allersberg and Hilpoltstein in the direction of Munich, begins on Monday, July 14th and is scheduled to last until Saturday, November 22nd. The reason: The replacement of the road surface, which is already 33 years old and has been badly affected by heavy traffic. Instead, the existing asphalt will be removed over a total distance of around 5.6 kilometers and replaced with modern, noise-optimized mastic asphalt. The total costs for this renovation amount to around 8 million euros.

The tangent between Munich and Würzburg is particularly affected, especially in the area of the Nuremberg motorway junction. Various closure periods have been announced here, ranging from Sunday 16th March to Friday 21st March and beyond until 2nd April. During the affected periods, traffic will be diverted over a large area via the Altdorf motorway junction from around 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
