Dog fun and summer festival: memories, music and great performances!

On July 7, 2025, a colorful summer festival took place in Eggenfelden that brought together dog lovers from the region. Due to high temperatures, the organizers kept the first demonstrations shorter than planned out of consideration for the welfare of the animals. Nevertheless, the festival didn't end until around half past one in the morning and gave the guests an unforgettable evening.

A look back at former trainers and members brought to light many wonderful memories of times gone by. It was particularly exciting to see how many new dog owners took the opportunity to book courses with the club that day. This shows that the dog friend group in Eggenfelden is still going strong.

Musical entertainment and exciting performances

The band Dry-Light created a good atmosphere with a varied music program. Franz, Lois and Bernhard entertained the crowd with hits, country music as well as rock and pop. Susanne Neumeier and her dog Jasper, who has been with the club since 2011, also impressed with a rousing dog dance performance. Doris Gronbach-Steinschnack and Andrea Diem led demonstrations that included elements of the companion dog test and lunging.

Food and drink were also not neglected: Torsten Einhorn's Steckerlfisch was a hit and he borrowed grill equipment from the Eggenfelden district fishing club. This has proven to be a big plus for the culinary diversity of the festival.

An event for dog lovers

The varied program also attracted numerous dog lovers, who were able to experience a variety of lectures in the lecture pavilion. Silke Schäfer read from her book “Podenco for Beginners” and animal health practitioner Angela Esser provided information about first aid remedies from naturopathy in her lecture “Domestic Medicine Cabinet”. There were also exciting insights into “Calming Signals”, which were presented by Tanja Findeklee from the Essen Dog School.

A special highlight was the physiotherapeutic check-up for dogs at the stand with Nadja ten Haaf from Agil & Vital. Visitors were also able to try out a human-dog fun course or take part in a professional photo shoot with photographer Klaus Dyba.

The summer festival also offered a large raffle with lots of great prizes. This was supported by sponsors and exhibitors, which made the entire event a successful experience. The chairwoman of Hundefreunde Eggenfelden was completely satisfied with how the festival went, which not only put a smile on the faces of the dogs but also the people.

You can tell that the community in the dog-loving circle is strong and the passion for our four-legged friends continues to bring people together. Who knows what the next festivals will bring – it will remain exciting!
