Golden fields and rolling hills: The Rhön picture of the week!
Hannelore Seifert took an impressive photo in the beautiful Rhön landscape that captures the rolling hills, golden fields and the changeable sky. This image, framed in an ornate wooden sculpture, was created by the Fulda newspaper brought into the spotlight as part of the “Picture of the Week” format. The competition invites readers to email their best shots to bilddestages@fuldaerzeitung.de, with the only criterion being that the images must be in landscape format.
But it's not just in the Rhön that people take photos. In the neighboring area, the photo competition “Human. Nature. Harmony.” organized by the administrations of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and Rhön GmbH. With around 300 photographs submitted, the response was impressive. Now 20 winning photos have been chosen, which will now be presented in a traveling exhibition. The first stop is the Bruder Franz House on Kreuzberg. Especially in the year when the Rhön celebrates its 30th anniversary as a UNESCO biosphere reserve, the event program is focused on education, communication and sustainable regional development.

International competition inspires

The international competition not only highlights the beauty of nature, but also sets guidelines that limit manipulation and the use of artificial intelligence in photography. In this way, the authenticity of the works of art is preserved while photographers capture nature's best energies.
With great competitions and unique images from the Rhön and beyond, we not only promote creative expression, but also raise awareness of our valuable nature. One more reason to get behind the camera and capture your surroundings!
