SG Barockstadt is heating up: Niesner becomes the new assistant coach!
SG Barockstadt is strengthening its coaching team: Marcel Niesner will be the new assistant coach alongside Daniyel Cimen. Niesner is moving from FC Gießen and brings with him five years of experience from his work with Cimen, during which he played 163 competitive games together. The sporting management led by Christian Geisendörfer sees Niesner's commitment as an important step towards stability and new impulses for the team. He has a B license and is optimistic that he will master this challenge well.
Cimen, who only took over the reins at SG Barockstadt in September 2024, is pleased about the reinforcements in the coaching staff. He emphasizes the good cooperation and trust in the team, which is also strengthened by the extensions of assistant coach Yasin Kocatepe, video analyst Senouci Allam and goalkeeping coach Witold Sabela by two years. This coaching team will therefore remain in office beyond the current season. The SG Barockstadt is thus clearly positioning itself for the challenges ahead.
Cimen and the change from Giessen to a baroque city
Daniyel Cimen's move from Gießen to SG Barockstadt came as a surprise to many. Not only has Cimen been extremely successful since taking over in 2024, but he also managed the club's promotion. Giessen's managing director Michèl Magel described the move as a shock and a loss for the club, as Cimen left a positive balance. His team got off to a promising start this season with just one defeat in six games. FC Gießen will now be taken over by Michael Fink, the previous assistant coach.
In an emotional farewell statement, Cimen spoke of his gratitude for his time in Giessen and his commitment to the club. “The change was not a decision against Giessen,” he emphasized and would like to support the team under Fink, but not on November 30th when they face their new club. This impressively shows how important the success of both teams is to him.
Change of coach in the Regionalliga Südwest
The change of coach in the Regionalliga Südwest is not uncommon and is closely monitored by the clubs. Information about coaching changes depends on the season and provides facts about the standings and tenures of both the fired and new coaches. In this area, the SG Baroque City, under the leadership of Cimen, represents a new accent and hopes for successful times. It remains to be seen what impulses Niesner will bring to the squad and how the coaching team around Cimen will overcome the challenges.
The entire regional league world is looking forward to the next games, and with these changes in the coaching staff, exciting games are coming. Whether the SG Barockstadt can implement the hoped-for impulses will become apparent in the coming weeks.
