Eirich leads SG Niederaula into the district cup semi-finals!
In the Krombacher District Cup there was a thrilling duel between ESV Hönebach and the defending champions SG Niederaula/Kerspenhausen on July 24, 2025. The spectators in the well-filled arena, around 250 in number, saw an exciting game that ultimately ended 3-1 for the guests. After a goalless first half, the game only reached its climax after the break. Johann Eirich, the man of the evening, gave SG Niederaula/Kerspenhausen a 1-0 lead in the 46th minute. Immediately after this opening goal, Kevin Kunze equalized for the ESV with a hand penalty in the 48th minute.
But Eirich was unstoppable that evening. Just 21 minutes after his first goal, he made it 2-1 for the visitors before Janosch Most made it 3-1 in stoppage time. The Hönebach coach Enis Adrovic was still satisfied after the defeat and reiterated that his team delivered a strong performance despite the missed opportunities, including a promising one-on-one from Tom Lindemann that remained unused. To make matters worse, a goal from Marcel Katzmann was disallowed for offside, which increased the anger in the ESV camp. Nevertheless, the atmosphere on the field and on the bench was remarkable.
The semi-finals are getting closer
