A particularly sensational incident occurred in Kassel's Nordstadt. There, a 56-year-old Spaniard, suspected of being a heroin dealer, was observed in the act by civilian investigators and arrested. During the check, the officers found 22 seals of heroin, around 100 euros in cash and a prohibited telescopic baton. Although the man's apartment was searched, no further drugs were found. Criminal proceedings were initiated against him for trafficking in narcotics, as reported by nh24.de.
Burglary and vehicle theft
But that wasn't all: At the same time, there was a break-in at the municipal building yard in Kassel's Nordstadt. Unknown perpetrators violently stole the property between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. The theft included numerous tools and two vehicles: an orange Iveco truck and a white VW Caddy. While the truck was found on a bike path on Sunday morning, the VW Caddy remains missing. The estimated total damage amounts to tens of thousands of euros. The Kassel criminal police are asking the public for information about this incident.
A casino in Wolfhagen was robbed on Monday morning. Two masked perpetrators tied the employee up with a knife and tried to break into slot machines. They escaped with an empty plastic box, while the employee managed to free himself and alerted the police. Unfortunately, the search for the perpetrators was unsuccessful. The description of the perpetrators suggests that they were slim men between the ages of 30 and 40; one of them was wearing green overalls and the other was wearing white overalls.
Decrease in crime
Thanks to these measures, among other things, a decrease in bicycle thefts by 33.3% and car break-ins by 35.5% was recorded. It seems like the police have a good hand at fighting crime in the region.
