How often have we asked ourselves the question: “How fast is too fast?” The issue of speed in road traffic is not only a constant hit on the motorways, but also in the cities. In Breuberg-Sandbach on Sunday, August 10, 2025, between 4:30 p.m. and 5:40 p.m., it once again became clear that the police were taking high security precautions. As part of the nationwide “Speedweek”, a speed camera marathon, the speed of the vehicles was monitored here on Höchster Straße (Kreisstraße 212). The speed camera marathon at a glance

Conclusion: A speed camera marathon does bring about temporary lower speeds, but a study by the University of Passau shows that the effect is not permanent. After the marathon, drivers tend to return to their old driving style. It is therefore important to practice responsible driving even outside of such campaign weeks and to always keep road safety in mind. This will keep road traffic safer for everyone – and perhaps also less expensive.
