On July 12, 2025, the Rhine will be the scene of a very special event: the current swimming, in which swimmers cover a distance of 7 kilometers from Wiesbaden to Eltville. [Wiesbaden leben] reports that the event begins at 2 p.m., with participants expected to arrive at Hafenweg 17 in Wiesbaden from 1 p.m. to register. Registration takes place directly on site and costs 20 euros, which can only be paid in cash. The event is accompanied by the DLRG safety boats, which ensure the safety of the participants.
After swimming, participants can look forward to access to the rose swimming pool in Eltville, where a warm shower awaits them. A shuttle service back to Schierstein is also offered, which makes the return journey pleasant.
