Wiesbaden rejoices: Phantoms conquer the European Cheerleading Championship!
There was a big celebration in Wiesbaden on July 6th, 2025! The Wiesbaden Phantoms showed at the European Cheerleading Championships ECA demonstrated all their skills and went home with medals in all three precious metal colors. The event took place for the third time in the “Halle at the Place of German Unity” and once again offered an exciting spectacle for all cheerleading fans.
On the first day of competition, the Phantoms teams showed their talent and were able to convince the jury. In the Peewees Junior 1 Cheer All Female category, the “Phairies” took home the bronze medal, despite having one minor misstep. But overall everything went smoothly! The performance of the “Phantastics” in the Senior Cheer All Female category was particularly noteworthy: with only minor mistakes, they celebrated their third European championship title in a row and landed in first place. Their impressive performance was all the more remarkable because they have been considered strong competition for years.
Silver and the grand finale
The “Flawless Five”, who competed in the Senior Group Stunt All Female category, secured the silver medal and impressed with a flawless performance. On Sunday, the second day of the European Championships, the “Phancies” take off! At 10:29 a.m. it will be their turn in the Junior 2 Cheer All Female category. Their performance will be the grand finale before the awards ceremony, scheduled for 3:05 p.m. ECA writes about the success story of this event and the city's joy at the return of the championship to Wiesbaden.
A step into the future
This competition was not only a celebration for the athletes, but also a sign of inclusion. As part of the European Championships, the CheerAbility categories, which are specifically intended for athletes with disabilities, were introduced for the 30th edition for the first time. Cheerleading is, after all, a sport that combines acrobatics, floor exercise and dance - and now also offers a little more accessibility for all athletes.
This year, organizers have created new categories for cheer, group stunts and cheer dance. This is intended to promote the inclusion of the 27% of people with disabilities in the EU, as shown by the members of Cheermania Auerbach, who are taking part in another European Championship with their inclusion team.
For the Wiesbaden Phantoms it was an unforgettable competition with great performances and an atmosphere full of pride and jubilation. Let’s see what the “Phancies” will bring to the stage on Sunday!
