Early summer competitions are always a highlight for the Boßel sports community, and the recent Boßel Cup in Wiesederfehn and Accum was no exception. The Frisian Boßlers showed strong performances and once again took many hearts by storm this year. How NWZonline reports, Astrid and Christoph Müller from Südbollenhagen were particularly impressive in the mixed competition in Wiesederfehn.
Astrid, who has been active at KBV Schwebrück since she was a teenager, and Christoph, who plays for KBV Kreuzmoor-Bekhausen, made it to the semi-finals. However, there they had to admit defeat against the eventual winners Femke Wilberts and Marian Jahnke. They had previously had to prevail in the round of 16 against defending champions Anke Klöpper and Stefan Siebolds.
Results and exciting duels
The competition was strong: In the male competition, the trio Nils Stulke, Bernd-Georg Bohlken and Kai Stoffers made it to the semi-finals as defending champions, but were eliminated there. Matthias Gerken, Christoph Müller and Reiner Hiljegerdes were eliminated in the first knockout round, while Manuel Runge, Marvin Coldewey and Christian Alberts had to throw in the towel in the round of 16.
The mixed pairings were less lucky: Mandy Sanders and Paula Janssen made it to the final of the Accum Cup, but narrowly lost to Femke Wilberts and Neele Habben.
