Crafts market in Harpstedt: A complete success despite the rain!

The arts and crafts market took place in Harpstedt on October 27, 2025, and despite the unstable autumn weather, numerous visitors stopped by. Around 40 exhibitors presented a wide range of regional products and specialties that not only delight the heart, but also the palate. The mulled wine was already sold out by early afternoon, and that speaks volumes about the popularity of the market.

Visitors were able to feast on a diverse selection, ranging from freshly prepared fish sandwiches and bratwursts to tempting waffles with powdered sugar. Among the exhibitors was Andriy Wornart, whose honey stand offered a tasty selection of different types of honey, including acacia, apple blossom and buckwheat honey. Uwe Bley delighted visitors with impressive wooden sculptures and lampshades made of wet birch wood.

Special atmosphere and visitor feedback

The organizer Bettina Brinkmann was pleased with the cozy atmosphere that characterized the market. She highlighted the valuable exchange between the visitors. Monika Limberg and Birgit Kreis from Bassum, who took part for the first time and were impressed by the size of the market, were particularly pleasantly surprised.

Another highlight was the Christiansen pastry shop, which offered delicacies such as Königsberger marzipan and sample portions. However, there was also a small complaint about the low presence of children at the state hunting association's educational mobile, where hunter Günter Rohlfs presented various animal preparations and skins.

Other markets in the region

In Tiengen, however, where the arts and crafts market has been an integral part of local events since 1995, around 35 exhibitors are expected this year. The Tiengen Action Group, led by Nikola Kögel and long-time organizer Irene Meier, has put together a varied event. Numerous regional products in particular are offered here, including for the first time food producers such as a beekeeper and a liqueur manufacturer.

Visitors can look forward to a wide range of culinary offerings, ranging from a regional food truck to Turkish finger food to coffee and cake. In addition to the stalls, the market invites you to stroll around and explore, and there are even active participation activities for young and old. You can look forward to two performances by the “Original Storchenturm Musicians” that enrich the program.

The arts and crafts market in Harpstedt is a great example of how commitment and a regional focus create lively markets that bring people together and spread a happy atmosphere. Even though the weather conditions were not ideal, the traditional delicacies and the craftsmanship made the day a success.
