Gold wedding: Dr. Höfken and Irene celebrate 50 years of love and adventure!

On June 27, 2025 the time has come: Dr. Claus-Peter and Irene Höfken celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. What a journey this couple has taken in more than 50 years together! The two met as neighbors in Bant, where Irene Höfken, née Büdke, was invited by her neighbor to a friend's party. A first step that should lay the foundation for a long, happy marriage.

Dr. Claus-Peter Höfken, born in 1948, was born in Verden and, after serving in the Bundeswehr, decided to study medicine in Hamburg. The couple got engaged in 1971 after completing their physics exams. Five years later they said yes. After graduating in 1974, Dr. Höfken initially worked as a surgeon at the Reinhard Nieter Hospital before opening his own practice in 1980. His wife supported him in office communications.

Family and hobbies

The Höfkens have two daughters and three grandchildren. They are particularly active with their 17-year-old grandson, with whom they do supervised driving. In addition, Dr. Höfken not only had medical know-how, but also a passion for sport: he played top-class football for 25 years and was president of the Wilhelmshaven ice hockey club for over a decade. All you can say is that the couple really has a knack for spending their free time!

But tennis is also one of their hobbies, a sport that they have practiced together for decades. When traveling, there is hardly a country in Europe that you have not visited with your motorhome. Scandinavia, Hungary and Italy were traveled over 25 years. Today they stay closer to their home park and go on short tours to Denmark and the Netherlands or visit their daughters.

The gold wedding

The gold wedding celebration will take place in a small circle of family and friends - an intimate affair that will bring back memories of the beginnings of the relationship. Dr. Höfken, who gave up his practice seven years ago, is still active in company medicine today and looks after companies in the area of ​​health care. He also brings his expertise as a specialist in sports medicine into his consultation, with the focus on preventive measures for the health of his patients.
