Music magic in Wilhelmshaven: Pauline touches you with her singing!
On June 15, 2025, the audience in Wilhelmshaven experienced a memorable concert. Despite the drizzle, the music lovers didn't let it stop them from celebrating in the spa park and enjoyed the performances at the savings and construction concert. After a weather-related cancellation on May 25th, the event could finally take place. Elvis impersonator Michael Aden stood out among the artists, captivating the audience with his timeless hits from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Popular pieces such as “Love me Tender”, “Jailhouse Rock” and “Blue Suede Shoes” were on the program and created an exuberant atmosphere.
Aden not only knew how to set musical accents, but also constantly animated the audience by announcing: “I still have one”. The strong applause from the audience clearly showed that his performance was successful. A very special moment, however, was the performance of eight-year-old Pauline from Traustadt, who captured the hearts of the audience with her soulful performance of “A Part of My Heart” (original by Jonathan Zelter). Many spectators had tears in their eyes, touched by her voice.
A traditional concert format
The Savings and Building Concert is part of a longer tradition started by the SPAR + BAU organization. The Sunday concerts in the music pavilion of the Wilhelmshaven spa park are a popular attraction for residents and visitors to the city. As you can read on the SPAR + BAU website, the concert season lasts from May to September and offers guests entertaining performances. Entry is free, which makes the event even more attractive. Further concert highlights include the next free concert with the Wilhelmshaven choir “The TwÄng” on July 13th, as well as performances by the Harlingerland wind orchestra on July 27th and by Alex Chilla and Klaus Rettkowski on August 24th, which complete the summer program.
The organizer of the concert summer, Doris Falk, has a good knack for selecting artists. It is gratifying to see how local talents, like little Pauline, are given a platform to present themselves to the audience. The other artists can also be happy about the reception they received last season.
The current concert program will be available in the office and member meeting points so that lovers of good music can always stay up to date. So if you're in the area it's worth stopping by and enjoying.
