Team NORKA dominates CHIO Aachen 2025: fourth victory in a row!

June 28, 2025 is all about vaulting, as impressive competitions took place today as part of the renowned CHIO Aachen 2025. The excitement was palpable and the audience enjoyed an impressive performance. The NORKA Automation team from VV Köln-Dünnwald was particularly outstanding, taking first place in the team rankings for the fourth time in a row.

With a total score of 8.540 points, the NORKA team once again came out on top. The score was made up of 8.238 points in the compulsory event and 8.742 points in the freestyle. Coach Torben Jacobs was visibly proud and emphasized the special atmosphere in Aachen. This season the team has only been competing in this constellation since the beginning of the year and shone with the ten-year-old Westphalian Ecuador as the horse, which was led by Alexandra Knauf on the lunge.

Individual successes

In the women's individual competition, Alice Layher from Brackenheim was convincing, celebrating her first victory in Aachen with a total score of 8.321. However, the competition was strong: Alina Roß was just a blink behind her with 8.317 points, while last year's winner, Kathrin Meyer, took third place with 8.305.

In the men's race, Bela Lehnen from Moers was unstoppable. With 8.391 points he triumphed at his first individual start in Aachen. Thomas Brüsewitz and Jannik Heiland secured second and third place with 8.351 and 8.334 points. These achievements reflect not only the athletes' skills, but also the hard work and dedication of their coaches.

Peaceful atmosphere

The atmosphere in the stadium was excellent and the audience cheered the athletes heartily. Last year's winner Quentin Jabet ended up in fifth place this time, but really struggled to live up to his performance. The German vaulters showed themselves to be strong as they completely occupied the podium places in the double vaulting, taking second, third and fourth places.

Alexandra Knauf was honored for 20 years of successful work, which underlines how important the team structure is in the sport of vaulting. However, the day will continue: The next competitions begin tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. with the double vaulting, and the Nations Cup concludes the action at 2 p.m.

Overall, the start of the vaulting competitions at the CHIO Aachen 2025 was a festive occasion full of talent and passion. Preparations are in full swing and the next decisions promise pure excitement.
