From Saturday, September 20th, things will be tight on Wittener Straße in Bochum for three days: The street will be completely closed in both directions between Werner Hellweg and Suttner-Nobel-Allee as well as Alte Wittener Straße until Monday, September 22nd. As the city of Bochum announced in a press release, traffic in this area will be significantly affected and wide bypasses are recommended to avoid traffic jams. This measure is part of a larger project that also affects Dannenbaumstrasse.
From September 22nd to 28th, a full closure will also be required at the junction with Wittener Straße; traffic will be redirected via Mettestraße. From September 29th, the Bochum public utility company will begin laying lines in the Werner Hellweg area, and the lanes at the junction with Wittener Straße will also be gradually closed.
