Düren loses after leading at halftime – Frechen turns the game around!
In today's game between Sportfreunde Düren and FC Frechen, the spectators saw an exciting game, albeit one marked by unexpected twists and turns. The host, Düren, started strongly and had the first opportunity through Tobias Frohn after just five minutes, but his shot from 20 meters was cleared for a corner by the visiting keeper. But the guests from Frechen also had problems; Three of their goalkeepers were unavailable with injuries.
In the 30th minute it was Hiroto Yamashita who made the home fans cheer. With a clever lob over the goalkeeper he made it 1-0 for Düren. Dürener's coach, Marcel Demircan, was happy with the performance of his players and saw a strong performance, especially from goalkeeper Raphael Unger, who saved a free kick with a great reflex and kept his team in the game in the first half.
Excitement after halftime
After the break the guests turned up the heat. In the 49th minute, the referee awarded a penalty for Frechen after Hagen Blohm allegedly played the ball with his hand in the penalty area. Patrick Friesdorf-Weber confidently converted the penalty and equalized to 1-1. Just seven minutes later, Tim Dilley ensured that Frechen took the lead 1-2.
Düren tried to take back the game and calmly built up, but there were no great chances. However, Friesdorf-Weber was unstoppable and scored his twelfth goal of the season, elegantly outplaying two Düren defenders and firing into the near corner. This made the final score 1:3 for Frechen.
The personnel consequences
To make matters worse, Düren was ultimately confronted with a weakening of personnel. Marc Wollersheim received a yellow-red card in the 90th minute after a foul on the visiting goalkeeper. This was the end of a game in which Düren was able to keep up well for a long time, but was not rewarded in the end.

While the Patriots have a record of 7-2, the Buccaneers also have a respectable 6-2 - an exciting constellation that should also captivate local sports fans in Cologne, even if the focus in this city is clearly on football at the moment Indystar reports that ….
