Vandalism shock in Höxter: 27 guide posts on K18 torn down!

Vandalism is not only a headache, but also causes a lot of trouble in the town of Höxter. On the night of Sunday, June 8th, unknown perpetrators tore out a whopping 27 delineator posts along District Road 18. This deliberate damage extends over a distance of around 1.3 kilometers between the Brenkhausen traffic circle and Höxter-Lütmarsen, specifically along Lamfert Street. The torn out posts were on the right side of the road in the direction of Lütmarsen, which underlines the danger of the incident, as it represents a clear interference with road traffic, as the police emphasize. The property damage is limited, but anger at the malicious perpetrators remains. The police officers were able to find most of the posts not far from their original positions and put them back up. The Höxter Traffic Commissioner is now asking for the public’s help. Anyone who made suspicious observations on the night in question should call 05271/962-0 to provide information that could help solve the case, reports LWZ24.

But unfortunately this is not the only vandalism attack that the city of Höxter has suffered recently. Mayor Daniel Hartmann expressed his anger about another incident: unknown people had removed slats from six benches on Steinkrugweg, which was a disadvantage for both the city and the users of these benches. The material damage amounts to over 1,000 euros. It is noticeable that the slats were carefully dismantled, which suggests that a tool was used here. These benches were just replaced last fall as part of a renovation project, and now the city is faced with the challenge of repairing this damage. Hartmann is outraged by the audacity of the perpetrators and has already filed a complaint against unknown persons. In this case, too, the city appeals to citizens to report information about the perpetrators. Here too, the Höxter police can be reached on 05271 9620 with information on how NW reported.
