Emotional reading by Jürgen B. Hausmann: A memorial to Ulli Potofski
This week, culture lovers in Cologne can look forward to a very special event. On Monday, September 1st, there will be a reading by Jürgen B. Hausmann in the Cinque Spiegelzelt, which is not only entertaining but also has a deep emotional content. Entry opens at 7 p.m., while the event begins at 8 p.m. The tickets cost 31.95 euros and are available at the NN offices in Kleve and Geldern and online at Lower Rhine News available.
The event was originally supposed to take place in the company of the well-known moderator Ulli Potofski. Tragically, Potofski died unexpectedly on August 3rd, which affects the format of the reading. Despite the circumstances, the reading will continue to remember Potofski and honor his legacy. Jürgen B. Hausmann, who has been working in cabaret for over 25 years, will read excerpts from his autobiography “Laughed and Wept” and share personal memories of Potofski, which will give the evening a particularly touching touch. Hausmann skillfully manages to oscillate between humorous everyday events and moving moments of fate and to make the audience smile and think.
A look at Jürgen B. Hausmann
Jürgen B. Hausmann, whose real name is Jürgen Karl Beckers, was born on October 29, 1964 in Bardenberg and currently lives in Alsdorf in the Aachen city region. Before his career as a cabaret artist, he taught at the Heilig-Geist-Gymnasium in Würselen. His beginnings in hand-made speeches go back to his childhood, and he is known for his appearances in the Aachen carnival club. In 1999 he celebrated great success with his first solo program “Hausmannskost” and has since established himself as a fixture in the cabaret landscape. This is also demonstrated by his series of programs, which range from “Ohrläppchen FKK” to “Hausmann macht Schule” and his daily program “JB Hausmann” on Antenne AC.
Another highlight of his career was his collaboration with WDR, which produced a documentary about his life and work. During his performances he often manages to shed light on social issues with a wink, which makes him an audience favorite.
More events in the pipeline
In addition to the upcoming reading, Hausmann also has an extensive program planned for the coming weeks. He will present his new program "Dat is e Ding! 2025" on August 29th in Bitburg and on August 30th in Saarlouis. Further events are scheduled in Herne, Straelen and even Berlin, among others. The demand for his performances shows that the Cologne cabaret artist is very popular.
Overall, the people of Cologne can expect a touching event on September 1st, which will be characterized by insights into Hausmann's life and the shared memories of Ulli Potofski. Join us and experience an evening full of laughter, tears and stirring stories.
