MT Melsungen turns the game around and defeats GWD Minden 30:27!

The handball fans in Melsungen can breathe a sigh of relief: MT Melsungen defeated GWD Minden 30:27 (12:13) last Saturday evening after an exciting match in the DAIKIN Handball Bundesliga. But the road to the away win in the Lübbecke district sports hall was anything but easy, as the first minutes of the game suggested.

Coach's team Roberto García Parrondo was behind 3:1 and 5:3 early on. Only an impressive 5-0 run helped Melsungen take a 5-7 lead by the 15th minute. In the first half, however, the Melsungers had a visibly difficult time and even fell behind again in the last seconds before the break when they went into the locker room with a 13:12 deficit.

Strong start to the second half

However, the start of the second half shows that the Melsungers are not going to let themselves get down. Timo Kastening, who scored three goals right at the start, ensured that the MT took the lead with 14:17. This laid the foundation for the eventual victory, even if technical errors put Melsunger in trouble at times.

Vlad Kulesh proved to be a real key player and contributed a total of four goals to the important away win. Laszlo Bartucz also showed a strong performance in the MT goal with crucial saves that played a crucial role in maintaining their lead until the final whistle.

Table and team spirit

With this triumphant victory, MT Melsungen celebrated their sixth success of this Bundesliga season, which consolidates them in the middle of the table. Nevertheless, coach Parrondo, who formulated his vision for the team in 2021, remains always focused on the further development of the team and the club's own history. The restructuring, which took place in several phases, is intended to continue to help increase the team's performance and ensure long-term success. Hesse show reports that MT is counting on continued successful cooperation with Parrondo next season, whose disciplined leadership style and team spirit provide positive impulses.

The away win was watched with excitement by 1,745 spectators. The coming games will show whether the Melsungers can continue their upward trend. Every win counts, and with the right balance of team interests and individual player concerns, says Parrondo, the MT is well on the way to firmly establishing itself in the Bundesliga.
