Accident in Minden: Unknown driver leaves injured girl!
On Friday afternoon an unfortunate traffic accident occurred in Minden, more precisely in the Bärenkämpen district. Two 16-year-old girls were riding an e-scooter on Zähringerallee towards Stiftsallee when there was a collision with an unknown car around 2 p.m. The incident ended lightly for the young people, but they sustained minor injuries that were later treated in a medical examination, reports NW.
The two girls had just crossed a roundabout and were almost across the street towards a supermarket when the collision occurred. A dangerous situation! The driver of the gray or silver car got out briefly, but refused to contact the police and drove away in the direction of Stemmer without leaving his personal details.
The fleeing driver
The police describe the driver as about 170 cm tall, of average build with a belly and short hair. His passenger was about 160 cm tall. Particularly striking: Both spoke broken German and were estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old. Her clothing was neat, so it distracts from the severity of the incident.
The young people only later reported the incident to the Minden police station. The officers are therefore asking for information from witnesses who may have seen something. The responsible contact point can be reached on (0571) 8866-0.
A look at e-scooters
The vehicle the girls were traveling with is an e-scooter, which has become increasingly popular in recent years. These electric powered scooters are not only practical for short journeys, they also offer an environmentally friendly alternative to cars and public transport. E-scooters are now an integral part of urban transport in many cities, not only in Germany but also internationally.
Although there are many benefits to using e-scooters, such as flexibility and time savings, it is important that drivers and other road users pay more attention to each other. Accidents can easily occur, especially in traffic-intensive areas, as the incident in Minden shows as an example.
