Kreuzviertel Festival 2025: A festival of diversity for young and old in Münster!

This year the Kreuzviertel Festival in Münster will celebrate a double anniversary. OnAugust 30 and 31, 2025The 35th edition of the popular district festival is taking place, an event that has captured the hearts of residents and guests since the late 1980s. The Kreuzviertel Business People Association has once again put together an exciting program that is equally suitable for families, students and neighbors. The festival mile extends over the streets around Hoyastrasse, Nordstrasse and Kampstrasse to the Kreuzkirche, and a colorful variety will be presented.

The Kreuzviertel Festival has its origins in 1988, when it began as a small festival on an old gas station site on Studtstrasse. Today it is one of the largest and most visited district festivals in Münster and attracts not only residents of the district, but also guests from outside who want to enjoy the party mile around the Holy Cross Church. There are three stages20 bands and actsperform and enchant visitors with genres of music from rock and pop to jazz and hip-hop. A special highlight will be the main act on Saturday evening: “Paul McCarthy’s Crosstown” promises an unforgettable performance.

A celebration for the whole family

Young visitors in particular don't miss out at the Kreuzviertel Festival. The organizers have put together an exciting children's program that includes a children's run, a children's flea market, bouncy castles, face painting and acrobatics performances. There will also be various dance and show performances from local dance schools and a karate school, which will provide entertainment. Social and cultural organizations such as Kinderneurologiehilfe Münster e.V. will also present themselves and have a stand.

Another centerpiece of the festival is the culinary promenade, where local restaurateurs offer a wide range of snacks and dishes. The festival is supported by volunteers and sponsors. To ensure cleanliness on the streets, 80 “ashtrays” will be placed to prevent cigarette butts. The Kreuzviertel Festival also stands for a strong awareness of environmental protection and neighborly help.

Cultural and spiritual offers

The festival goes beyond just entertainment. Spiritual offerings such as “night sounds” and church services will take place in the Holy Cross Church, creating a contemplative atmosphere. Here joy and reflection meet in a meeting place. As a sign of community, a fundraising campaign is initiated for the Vision e.V. association to preserve green spaces.

In addition to the festivities on these two days, on the same Saturday,August 30, 2025, the “Night at the Zoo” event also took place at the Münster All-Weather Zoo. Here, visitors can enjoy the evening zoo atmosphere in a relaxed atmosphere with music and various snacks. Festively lit paths lead through the zoo, with live music and artists like the fast-drawn Olaf Preiss providing additional entertainment.
