Good spirits haunt uniquely: comedy in Oberhausen Castle!

The Oberhausen Castle Nights are just around the corner, and with them a very special highlight: On Saturday, July 26, 2025, the Mülheim Brick Theater will perform the amusing comedy “Good Spirits” in the picturesque courtyard of Oberhausen Castle. The curtain will be raised at 7:30 p.m., with admission starting one hour earlier. In this unique ambience, visitors can look forward to an unforgettable evening, which is available for 25 euros in advance and 28 euros at the box office. Tickets are available at Ebertbad Oberhausen, where the anticipation for the piece is palpable.

But what is “Good Spirits” actually about? The story revolves around Jack Cameron, a crime writer and staunch atheist who dies tragically in a boating accident along with his wife Susie. As a ghost trapped in their old country house, Jack repeatedly causes horror for an unsuspecting real estate agent. Chaos begins when the couple rents the house to unsuccessful author Simon Willis and his pregnant wife Flic. With an evil mother-in-law and a protective angel who only complicates everything, confusion is inevitable. But don't worry, as befits a good comedy, everything resolves itself in a pleasant way at the end! [Lokalkompass] reports on the directing work by Susanne Zambelly and a great ensemble that brings the roles to life.

First-class actors and support from the region

The cast of the piece is impressive: Nadine Reuth, Carolin Markowsky, Marie Zipp-Timmer, Christa Böhner, Susanne Zambelly, Wolfgang Bäcker, Martin Iwanow and Frank Helling skilfully bring the characters to life. The audience magnet “Good Spirits” is presented with flying colors, also thanks to the impressive support from the city of Oberhausen, the LUDWIGGALERIE Schloss Oberhausen, the Ruhr Regional Association and many other local partners, such as the Stadtsparkasse Oberhausen and RSL Mobile Raumsysteme.

The Schwimmhilfe e.V., which is responsible for the organization and implementation, invites all theater enthusiasts from Cologne to become part of this unique experience. So if you're looking for an entertaining evening, you should get your tickets well in advance, as this event only takes place on one day.
