What a wonderful occasion! Today, on November 28th, 2025, the married couple Ingrid and Dieter Siebeneich celebrate their diamond wedding and look back on a proud 60 years of life together. The couple married for the first time in a civil ceremony on November 26, 1965, followed by a church wedding on November 27, 1965 in Remscheid. After a year of being newly married, the two of them moved to Wermelskirchen, where they have made their home ever since.
The celebrations were initially kept on a small scale. Ingrid and Dieter celebrated this special day in intimate togetherness before later celebrating with the family. At a time when things weren't always easy for the two of them, trust plays a central role - a point that Ingrid particularly emphasizes. “Without trust, we cannot survive ups and downs.”
A journey together
Ingrid, born in East Prussia, experienced first-hand what it means to lose one's homeland. During the war she fled with her family to Cottbus and later to Verden, while Dieter came to Remscheid as a refugee child to work as a nurse. A time together began when the two met in the hospital when Dieter was working in the inner ward. He later became a manager in the intensive care unit at the local hospital.
Ingrid and Dieter's lives are marked by beautiful memories, especially the family traditions and the numerous vacations in Denmark, which have become a "second home" for their children. These shared experiences are an integral part of their lives and the love they share with each other. “We collected so many beautiful moments and stories,” says Ingrid with a smile.
