Diamond wedding: Ingrid and Dieter celebrate 60 years of love in Wermelskirchen

What a wonderful occasion! Today, on November 28th, 2025, the married couple Ingrid and Dieter Siebeneich celebrate their diamond wedding and look back on a proud 60 years of life together. The couple married for the first time in a civil ceremony on November 26, 1965, followed by a church wedding on November 27, 1965 in Remscheid. After a year of being newly married, the two of them moved to Wermelskirchen, where they have made their home ever since.

The celebrations were initially kept on a small scale. Ingrid and Dieter celebrated this special day in intimate togetherness before later celebrating with the family. At a time when things weren't always easy for the two of them, trust plays a central role - a point that Ingrid particularly emphasizes. “Without trust, we cannot survive ups and downs.”

A journey together

Ingrid, born in East Prussia, experienced first-hand what it means to lose one's homeland. During the war she fled with her family to Cottbus and later to Verden, while Dieter came to Remscheid as a refugee child to work as a nurse. A time together began when the two met in the hospital when Dieter was working in the inner ward. He later became a manager in the intensive care unit at the local hospital.

Ingrid and Dieter's lives are marked by beautiful memories, especially the family traditions and the numerous vacations in Denmark, which have become a "second home" for their children. These shared experiences are an integral part of their lives and the love they share with each other. “We collected so many beautiful moments and stories,” says Ingrid with a smile.

The meaning of the diamond wedding

The Diamond Wedding, a symbolic anniversary, stands for 60 years of lived love and stability. During this time, couples like the Siebeneichs have overcome many challenges and grown together. The diamond wedding is often associated with emotional experiences that offer both joy and a look back at challenges overcome together. Touching texts and poems that reflect this special connection perhaps best summarize what the couples have learned over the years: patience, communication, respect and gratitude are the keys to a long and happy relationship. We found more about this on leichterimalltag.de.

Diamonds, a symbol of enduring beauty and resilience, reflect the qualities that characterize a long-lasting marriage. After the wedding anniversary, there are numerous other celebrations, such as the grace wedding for the 70th anniversary and the crown jewel wedding for the 75th anniversary. Hardly anything is as valuable as the many brave steps in the journey together that Ingrid and Dieter have taken over half a century.

Dieter, who has been in need of care since a cardiac arrest 14 years ago, always has Ingrid at his side. “There is nothing nicer than having the children from the neighborhood around you and chatting with them,” enthuses Ingrid, who is known in the neighborhood as “Grandma vom Lehn”.

Ingrid and Dieter Siebeneich are not just a couple, they are a symbol of permanence, love and values that are often lost in a world. Her story is one that inspires and encourages - a true testimony that True Love endures through all storms. We wish them both a happy anniversary and many more happy years in Wermelskirchen.
