There is a wide range of sports clubs in Warendorf. The Stadtsportverband Warendorf e. v. (SSV) is the higher-level authority that currently represents 33 sports clubs with around 13,600 members. The SSV was founded in 1988 and still plays a crucial role in the city's sporting events today. The variety of sports offered in Warendorf is considerable and enables citizens to find the right sports offering for themselves. Whether it's football, handball, athletics or even fitness options, the possibilities are almost endless. The SSV also supports sports clubs with financial aid and promotes volunteer work, which is of great importance for cooperation in the community.

The role of the SSV

The SSV has many tasks that go beyond representing the clubs.
