Huge scandal in Gauersheim: AfD dialogue ends in chaos and police action!

On October 3, 2025, the Day of German Unity, some tumultuous scenes occurred in Gauersheim, in the Donnersberg district. A citizens' dialogue by the AfD, planned at the Nordpfalz meeting point, was promptly confronted by local citizens with their own dialogue on the village square. But instead of a respectful exchange, there was a heated exchange of words and scuffles over which the... Rhine Palatinate reported in detail.

The two events were only about 300 meters apart and were intended to shed light on various aspects of local politics. While residents wanted to discuss the future and problems of Gauersheim, the AfD held a rather controversial meeting. The encounter between around 20 citizens and 40 AfD supporters was shocking. The daily news reports on filming participants and a police intervention that became necessary to defuse the tension.

Conflicts and threats

The police had to actively intervene and arrested a large number of personal details; Corresponding reports of insults and threats were filed. AfD member of the state parliament Damian Lohr spoke of harassment and physical attacks, while mayor Reiner Schiesser emphasized that it was the residents who felt threatened. A 35-minute AfD event was finally able to take place without any major disruptions. Nevertheless, the aftereffects remained felt in the community.
