Heroic rescue: Fire brigade and helicopter free injured person in Eiswoog!

Last Saturday afternoon, the Ramsen fire department went on a dramatic rescue operation in the forest area at Eiswoog. In addition to the forces from Ramsen, the Eisenberg fire department was also on site to provide support when the alerted rescuers set off down a steep and difficult-to-access path. The area, densely overgrown and only accessible on foot, presented the emergency services with a major challenge.

Orientation in the confusing terrain was achieved using fixed rescue points and precise GPS coordinates. A scouting party made up of Ramsen and Eisenberg had medical equipment with them as they searched the area. The search for the missing person was initially unsuccessful: an acoustic orientation was necessary about 70 meters away from the forest path until cries for help from the injured person were finally heard.
